Catch report

May

The Bass fishing is really good with 10 fish or more being caught on trips. There are also plenty of Skate and Dogfish about so it's a real mixed bag. The Smoothhounds and Mackeral will be here soon so that will really make for some excellent trips.

March and April 2010

For March and April, Sprats went at the end of March, and now we have the Herring which is keeping Cod & Skate to mid-water. But, we are getting still some good amounts of large Cod, and quite a few Skate, in patches. Which seem to be feeding off the bottom. When the Herring go, which will be in the next week or two, there will be some good catches of Cod and Skate. We look forward to seeing the Smoothounds, Bass & Tope, in late May, June & July.

December

As we correctly predicted this is proving to be an excellent Cod season. Even when the weather has forced us to fish in the shelter of the river, the fishing has been superb with many cod around 8lbs and a few double figure beauties. Steve Suckling had a nice fish of 11lb 7oz and the lads on Monday had over 25 cod, the majority around the 8lb mark.
